Location - Si Ayuthaya Road. Suan Pakkad is easily found, about 5 minutes walk from Phaya Thai skytrain station and is signposted from the station. Google Map location.
Suan Pakkad means Cabbage Patch, so called because the palace was built in a vegetable garden! It is actually a collection of traditional Thai wooden houses rather than a what you might think a palace looks like. It is quite small and not visited as much as other sights. It is conveniently located just 5 minutes walk from Phaya Thai skytrain station and is a good way to spend a couple of hours. It is rather dwarfed by surrounding tower blocks and the noise of the roads is never far away, but this is as close to peaceful as Bangkok gets.
